The Low Down.
I fricken love cherries. Kriek style beers are one of my guiltiest pleasures. This is a subtle take on the Belgian classic by one of the very best breweries out of North America.
This cherry brew has a very soft flavour and the malt accent blends well to create an almost cereal-like aroma.
Rogue also make maple-bacon beer and a dozen other specialty brews. All that I have tried have been top notch. More importantly, these guys are all about the beer revolution, or any kind of revolution, and I like it.
Packaging: 9/10
The theme across the range is sticking to the Revolutionary nature of the product.
Refreshment: 9/10
As the Cherry flavour isn’t overpowering, you can drink this one all day.
Flavour 7/10:
Flavours are subtle and well blended. Tastes like revolution
Alcohol Content: 9/10
6%, which is unheard of in a sweet beer like this. Perfect
Price: 6/10
$11.50 ordered in specially. In my opinion it’s steep, but worth it.
Total: 40/50
Newport has its share of treats but none are as magical as Clam Chowder, and First Growth is a natural partner. Failing that just drink until the revolution comes. Something tells me we will all be first up against the wall.
Cheers.
